It is within the Cycles dashboard where you will log each sterilization cycle for an instrument within your fleet as shown below:

To log a reprocessing cycle:

  1. Position your cursor within the field labeled Instrument SN. Scan (or enter) the serial number of the instrument cycle to be logged and press the tab key.

  2. If this is NOT a reversing cycle (see What is a “reversing cycle”? below), proceed to step 3.  If this IS a reversing cycle position your cursor within the field labeled Reversal?.  Select Yes from the drop-down menu; a field labeled Reversal Comment will appear.   Enter a brief descriptive comment about the reversing cycle and press the tab key.

  3. Review all the information on the screen.  If it is complete and accurate press the Submit button.   The message “Reprocessing cycle successfully logged” will appear.  If this is a reversing cycle the message “Reverse reprocessing cycle successfully logged” will appear.

The cursor will be re-positioned in the field Instrument SN and is ready for another instrument cycle to be logged.

If the Instrument SN you scanned (or entered) is not found within your fleet the following message will appear:

This scenario is caused when an instrument hasn’t been commissioned or a scanner error (mis-scan) has occurred.   Close the window (click on the X in the upper right-hand corner), correct the situation and try again.

If the instrument you scanned (or entered) is Retired the following message will appear:

To continue, close the window (click on the X in the upper right-hand corner); you will be returned to the Log a Reprocessing Cycle screen.

If the instrument you scanned (or entered) has reached the maximum recommended reprocessing cycles the following message will appear:

If you want to log this reprocessing cycle (and continue to exceed the recommended maximum) press the Submit button. The cycle will be logged and you will be returned to the Log a Reprocessing Cycle screen. Additionally, an email alert will be sent to the CycleTrak Administrator that “The allowed maximum number of reprocessing cycles have been exceeded on an instrument”.

If you don’t want to log this reprocessing cycle, close the window (click on the X in the upper right-hand corner); you will be returned to the Log a Reprocessing Cycle screen.
